Dr. Xiaoyan Hu

T.C.M.D., L.Ac. – Edina Clinic

Dr. Xiaoyan Hu studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for 7 years before receiving a Ph.D. in TCM with a specialty in Gynecology and Internal Medicine. She has practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for over 30 years, 15 of which were spent treating patients in two Chinese hospitals. Dr. Hu previously held a position as the Supervising Doctor of TCM at the Hainan Medical School, and taught TCM theory at Northwestern Health Sciences in Bloomington. Her special areas of expertise include gynecology, nutrition, and pain management.

Dr. Xiaoyan Hu is the founder and owner of the Chinese Acupuncture & Herb Center, established in 1999.

I was in a pretty severe car accident 2 years ago. I had seen seven different doctors before I came to see Dr. Hu, and tried even more treatments – many of them painful or invasive. I was in constant pain, had been told I would never run again (which seemed like a death sentence to a lifelong runner) and had frequent panic attacks and very little sleep. Seeing Dr. Hu has not only given me relief from all of those symptoms, but its also given me hope. Getting regular acupuncture treatments with Dr. Hu has impacted my life more than I can explain. I am filled with gratitude.

Dr. Peichun Chin has been in the healing business since 1987. He earned his Ph.D. in Oriental Medicine from the China Academic of Chinese Medical Sciences. Prior to joining the Chinese Acupuncture and Herb Center, Dr. Chin worked in the pain management clinic at the Guang-Ann Men Hospital, and in the endocrinology department at the Wang-Jin Hospital.

Dr. Chin published research on the reversibility of Type 2 Diabetes, and specializes in treating endocrine and hormonal disorders, chronic kidney disease, obesity, erectile dysfunction, menopausal symptoms, facial rejuvination, sports injuries, and pain management.

My eight month old daughter was about to undergo tear duct surgery when I met Dr. Chin at a social function. He advised me that this surgery would leave permanent tear duct scarring and cause life long problems. He told me the problem was not the eye, but the intestine.

After five days of herbal treatment, Katherine’s eye cleared up and she is a healthy, active 5 year old today. Thank you Dr. Chin.

Amazing!!! I was never sure what to think about acupuncture, but I am happy to say it truly works. I am equally surprised after each session by how well I feel. Catherine is great! She really took the time to get to know me and understand my situation. I am so comfortable talking with her in spite of my social anxiety. I struggle with anxiety and other psychological problems, which have affected my physical wellbeing. In the short time receiving acupuncture therapy with Catherine my overall health is considerably better. I and others who know me have really noticed a huge difference, especially with my mental health. I used to have several panic and anxiety attacks a week. In the past few weeks I haven’t had any attacks. My depression has improved as well as my communication skills. Many of my other health issues have also been addressed, I am amazed by the results.

We agreed on two sessions a week at first and I could notice improvement after the third session. Since then I have been going once a week with very noticeable improvement.
Ariel literally gave me my life back! Not only is she a master of her craft, but she is a remarkably caring and kind person. I have continued once a week treatments with significant improvement. I consider Ariel as both a healer and a friend, and it doesn’t get any better than that in the world of medicine. A million thank you’s Ariel.

5 stars for Chinese Acupuncture and Herb Center!

Mine is a success story. I sought help from Chinese Acupuncture Center in St. Paul and was fortunate enough to be treated by Ingrid. What drove me to seek acupuncture treatment was extreme crippling arthritis in my hands. Before I began, my hands were so bad that I really could barely use them; my fingers were feverish, red, and swollen. They throbbed (much like toothache pain) all the time. Yes, I still have arthritis in my hands but the awesome part is that almost all my symptoms are gone. I have regained the use of my hands. I’m just so thankful to receive treatment from Ingrid.
