Dr. Xiaoyan Hu, T.C.M.D., L.Ac. - Associate Professor

I studied medicine for five years at Hubei Medical School, receiving my certification as Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1983. I completed two additional years of training in the areas of Gynecology and Internal Medicine and I studied Theories of Teaching Traditional Chinese Medicine through 1985.

I went on to practice TCM at two government-sponsored hospitals in China for over 15 years, enjoying opportunities for research and publication. In addition, I taught as an assistant professor at Hainan Medical School for over eight years, becoming a Supervising Doctor of TCM for the Medical Board of Hainan Medical School in 1992.

Since moving to the United States in 1998 I have continued to pursue clinical practice and teaching in TCM. In 1999 I founded Chinese Acupuncture & Herb Center in Edina, Minnesota where I maintain a private practice. In addition, since 1999 I have been an Associate Professor with the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Science University in Bloomington, Minnesota where I lecture on a wide variety of core subjects.

My special areas of interest and expertise include Gynecology, Nutrition and Pain Management.
