I began my study of therapeutic bodywork in 1996 in combination
with studies in T’ai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga. I am currently
a shiatsu and qigong instructor for Centerpoint, the premier
Twin Cities training program for Shiatsu and Massage Therapy.
Over the last ten years I have studied and practiced a range
of therapeutic modalities including craniosacral therapy
and positional release. During this time I have also consistently
practiced meditation, qigong, and yoga, and regard these
as important therapeutic and life-enhancing skills that
I can share with my clients when appropriate.
Treatment Principles:
I use the framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine to
help bring the body to greater balance and harmony. Both
structural and functional aspects are addressed, commonly
in the same treatment. My work is especially effective for
sub-acute and chronic conditions, or as part of a rehabilitative,
preventative, or stress-reduction regimen.
Therapeutic Techniques:
- Shiatsu Anma
- Namikoshi style Shiatsu
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Positional Release
- Sotai Therapy
- Moxibustion, cupping, and guasha techniques
